Welcome internet goers. We've all felt the cold and piercing sting of jealousy. Whether it's with a family member, partner, or friend. We all can relate to the frozen, suffocating hands of jealousy around our throats, maiming our ability to think properly, as our stomachs drop in fear and insecurity. Jealousy is such a dark feeling; it makes you feel as if you'll never smile again, or like you can't trust the world. It strips you of your confidence and worth, and sends you to places you never want to be within yourself. It can make you act out in ways you wouldn't normally. 

When the icy hands of jealousy grab you, you can either give into it, or try to talk it through with the person who made you feel it (if it's relevant). 

In the story below, a husband watches as his wife is grabbed by a professional dancer at a restaurant, seeing her being flipped, dipped, and swayed through the air. He's filled with the pain of jealousy, and in his anger and emotion, he tells her he wants a divorce. As many of the commenters are saying, if he was this triggered to end his marriage over a dance, he was probably 90% there to begin with.

    To me, it was an innocent interaction. I didn't think accepting a dance during a public performance would be such a big deal, but I never meant to hurt or disrespect him. I now feel conflicted because while I think his reaction was extreme, I also don't want to invalidate his feelings.

  • Maybe he's jealous because he's cheated. Usually people project their insecurities onto their partners. He could have such a strong reaction because he's been unfaithful.
